The award will be presented on the 15th November at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards which recognise the incredible achievements and dedication towards physical activity and sport across the county. Find out more about the event and buy your tickets here.

The Greater Manchester Ageing Hub brings together universities, public and private services, and citizens to improve the lives of residents as we age. Based at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, we coordinate a strategic response to the opportunities and challenges of an ageing population. Greater Manchester is the UK’s 1st age-friendly city region. Our vision is that older people are able to contribute to and benefit from sustained prosperity and enjoy a good quality of life, and that Greater Manchester becomes the best place in the UK to grow older.

TBC Cllr Brenda Warrington, lead for Ageing Friendly Greater Manchester and Leader of Tameside Council, said; Later life is not too late to make changes. We want to celebrate barriers overcome and lives transformed through radical lifestyle changes.
