The Volunteer of the Year award is for volunteers who have given up their time to volunteer over a given time frame. The awards will be presented on the 15th November at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards which recognise the incredible achievements and dedication towards physical activity and sport across the county. Find out more about the event here.

Emirates Old Trafford, home to Lancashire Cricket, is an award-winning, world-class venue for sport, business and leisure. Over the last decade, the venue has undergone a transformational £60 million redevelopment and boasts intelligent events spaces for up to 2,000 delegates; and a four-star Hilton Garden Inn.

Over the last couple of years, the venue has played host to some of the world’s biggest sporting events, including six ICC Cricket World Cup fixtures, the 4th Specsavers Ashes Test; and renowned concerts such as Ariana Grande’s ‘One Love Manchester’.

Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire Cricket, said: “Emirates Old Trafford is proud and honoured to sponsor the Greater Manchester Sports Awards.

“As a professional cricket club, we have a responsibility to support other local sports and community projects within the region. We are passionate about grassroots sport and increasing participation across the north west, and the awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements of the unsung heroes who are the pillars of our community.

“We are delighted to be a part of the event and wish all the nominees luck for what I’m sure will be a fantastic evening.”
