GreaterSport have partnered with Salford CVS on behalf of 10GM to manage another round of our successful GM Walking Community Investment Fund.
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve partnered with Salford CVS on behalf of 10GM to manage another round of our successful GM Walking Community Investment Fund through 2022 and into 2023.
The aim of the fund is to empower and facilitate community groups to embed more walking in Greater Manchester so that it becomes a normal part of everyday life in all communities.
A pot of £85,000 will be made available in the form of grants that will support the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to develop and deliver walking initiatives that:
Small grants of up to £2,000 and medium grants of up to £5,000 will be available to VCSE organisations which can demonstrate their intention to work with individuals and communities that may not be already active, in particular, people with disabilities, people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, people from lower socio-economic groups and those with long-term health conditions.
Simon Robinson, Grants Manager at Salford CVS said: “On behalf of 10GM, Salford CVS is thrilled to be working with GreaterSport to deliver a grants programme to promote walking across the city region. We’ll be using our extensive network to reach out to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations with a track record of promoting community health and wellbeing. We very much hope to receive applications from across Greater Manchester that seek to spread the physical and mental health and environmental benefits of walking”
