Salary: Band 4, £27,975 - £31,641 per annum (pro-rate for part time)

Hours: 37 hours per week

What will my role be as a Volunteer Programme Coordinator?

The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust.

This includes being responsible for the development, planning and coordination of the Your Trust Volunteer Programme, working closely with colleagues across the organisation to increase and provide new volunteering opportunities for the local community, ensuring equality of access, raising awareness of new opportunities and improving access to the Programme through the development of information and training whilst ensuring all activities are delivered safely.

What do I need to have?

  • Qualified to Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject (eg Volunteering, Community Development, Sport and Leisure) or qualified by experience Proven track record in the delivery of volunteer development support across a local or regional setting
  • Experience of mentoring, supporting and the training and development of volunteers and action planning for personal development goals
  • Experience of working in partnership with organisations from community, voluntary and faith groups and statutory services
  • Experience of best practice in improving, measuring and continually improve a programmes performance and effectiveness
  • Experience of working in deprived areas and taking positive action to overcome barriers to participation
  • Proven ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders, partners and members of the public
  • Friendly, outgoing person who can adapt their approach for different audiences, working with different groups and ages
  • Excellent understanding of the voluntary sector and a strong knowledge of best practice of volunteer management
  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, able to use own initiative and have good organisation skills
  • Knowledge of establishing and maintaining monitoring systems
  • Proven ability to prepare concise and accurate reports, and proof reading skills
  • Ability to problem solve and make key decisions under pressure, including prioritising and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Databases)
  • Excellent time management skills
