An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trafford Leisure team. We are a Leading Leisure provider across Trafford and we work together to get the people of Trafford to move more everyday!

We are the largest operator of sport and leisure facilities in Trafford, operating nine indoor facilities, one golf course and driving range and 31 outdoor football pitches, attracting over 2 million visits and employing a workforce of over 300 people. This is a pivotal point in our evolution as Trafford Council invest millions of pounds into the 5 main indoor leisure facilities in Trafford over the next 5 years. The ambitious investment program will see the portfolio of centres transformed into fit for purpose, accessible, inspiring spaces under a new brand of for future generations to come. Alongside this we need to ensure we have a developed a committed team across Trafford Leisure to allow us to continue delivering the best service to our customer to help create opportunities for them to move more and live longer, healthier, happier lives.

The Role

The Active Volunteering Manger will play a key role to bring Trafford Leisure’s vision to life as well as contribute to wider strategic outcomes.

You will be responsible for developing our volunteer value proposition and delivering inspirational volunteer opportunities supporting people to live more active lives whilst always ensuring a first-class volunteer experience.

You will work closely with staff across the business and be well connected and engaged with external stakeholders, acting as the first point of reference on volunteering process and policy, identifying volunteer opportunities both with our centres and with the community, leading our volunteer recruitment, induction, training, support, engagement, and retention.

We are looking for a motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team at an exciting period of change for Trafford Leisure. To be successful in this 12-month fixed term contract (continuation subject to funding) you must have relevant experience of working with volunteers, working in partnership with other organisations, as well as knowledge of health inequality.

Working Hours: 39 hours per week

Location: Your primary location will be Head Office although you would be expected to work from our various sites across Trafford and we are happy to work flexibly with you.
