Tameside has recovered to baseline levels for inactivity (30.6%) but not pre-pandemic levels and neither for active (56.6%).
Prior to the pandemic most groups were reducing in inactivity, except 16-34 years and NS SEC 3-5 groups.
NS SEC 3-5 and 6-8 groups and those aged 75+ were most impacted by the pandemic.
In the last 12 months only NS SEC 6-8 groups, those aged 16-34 and 55-74 years have seen an increase, all of which are higher than GM levels.
The inactive population has seen a decrease in the last 12 months (-1.8%), is only just above baseline (+0.1%), but is higher than pre-pandemic levels (+3.3%).
