Prior to the pandemic, Stockport was showing increasing inactivity levels rather than reduction as in other parts of Greater Manchester.
The inactive proportion has seen a small decrease in the last 12 months (-1.0%), but is slightly above baseline (+0.7%) despite recovery to below pre-pandemic levels (-0.4%).
Prior to the pandemic (2018-19) inactivity was slowing increasing for those aged 16-34 years and 75+, but fairly stable or decreasing for other demographic groups.
In the last 12 months inactivity has decreased for most demographic groups, except males, those aged 75+ and middle socio-economic groups (NS SEC 3-5).
