The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England shows that 70.2% of adults in Salford are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 145,000 adults moving. This is a decrease of 10,600 from 12 months ago.
The latest Active Lives data shows that there has been a significant decline in activity levels across Salford in the last 12 months. 70.2% of adults in Salford are now moving (active and fairly active), this equates to 145,000 adults. Since Active Lives launched, November 2015-16, the inactivity rate has decreased by 1.3%, meanwhile in Greater Manchester the rate has increased by 2.6%.
When this latest release is combined with activity data on children and young people, 164,600 Salford residents are moving.

The inactivity gender gap in Salford is 4.2%Since November 15/16 the inactivity gender gap has increased by 1.6%. This decrease has been driven by a larger decrease in inactivity amongst men (-2.4%) than women (-0.9%). |
