Salford has recovered to baseline levels for both active (64.0%) and inactive (25.1%), but neither for pre-pandemic levels. Whilst now better than Greater Manchester average levels for the first time since pre-pandemic.

The inactive proportion has seen a decrease in the last 12 months (-4.7%), is below baseline (-6.0%) but higher than pre-pandemic levels (+1.7%).

Prior to the pandemic (2018-19) inactivity decreased for all demographic groups, but slightly less for middle socio-economic groups (NS SEC 3-5) and those aged 75+.

In the last 12 months again inactivity has decreased across all demographic groups, especially 75+ and those from middle socio-economic groups (NS SEC 3-5).
