The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England shows that 73.3% of adults in Bury are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 111,400 adults moving. This is a decrease of 5,500 from 12 months ago.
The latest Active Lives data shows that there has been a decline in activity levels across Bury in the last 12 months. 73.3% of adults in Bury are now moving (active and fairly active), this equates to 111,400 adults. Since Active Lives launched, November 2015-16, the inactivity rate has increased by 0.4%, meanwhile in Greater Manchester the rate has increased by 2.6%.
When this latest release is combined with activity data on children and young people, 128,000 Bury residents are moving.

The inactivity gender gap in Bury is 5.2%Since November 15/16 the gender gap has increase by 2.1% , however the gap has inverted since baseline with more women now inactive than men. The change has been driven by a decrease in male inactivity (-4.3%) and an increase in female inactivity (+4.0%). |
