The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England shows that 77.2% of adults in Bury are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 116,900 adults moving. This is an increase of 7,700 from 12 months ago.
These results continue the positive trend in Bury where there has been an increase of 3.7% in the number of adults moving (active and fairly active) since Active Lives launched in November 2015-16. This is a greater increase than both England (1.0%) and Greater Manchester (2.3%).

Since the first Active Lives release, (November 2015-16), Bury has seen a decrease in inactivity levels across the majority of cohorts. The exception to this being those from lower income categories. The largest decreases in inactivity have been amongst those in middle income categories with an 8.2% decrease, males, a 6.7% decrease, and those aged 35-54, a 5.3% decrease.
