The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) recommends that all children and young people achieve 60 minutes of physical activity a day, in Bolton half of young people achieve this.
The proportion of children active (achieving an average of at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day) in Bolton has slightly increased (1.5%) in the last 12 months. However, the borough had insufficient responses to report levels in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Activity levels have increased for boys, but not girls in Bolton in the last 12 months, as well as medium family affluence groups.
